Hi everyone, i am leaving to US for one month holiday. I need to rent a car there, i checked online, found seems i need a IDP, international driving permit from chinese goverment. I called several times, got answer like we do not have this kind of business, etc. Then i checked my driving licence, it is a renewed one, bilingual, with chinese and english. So that means Americans can read it. I am seeking if anyone can tell me or has experinces in renting car in US by using chinese driving license, if can not, what to do here before i leave?

Then I took it out from my car, found my renewed licence has english version under chinese character, like name, address, and date of issue and expire date, and it is obviously said driving licence from the people's republic of china.
